Good Morning Sunshine!

Now that I'm on summer break with the kids, I have more time to do fun food with them again.  Here is a cute idea for a pancake sun:)
One big circle pancake surrounded by strawberry slice rays with a blueberry smiley face.

You can see here how big I made them with Ena in the picture. It's as big as her head!  You can also see Altons little hand and chubby little cheek trying to squeeze in there to snitch a strawberry and Athena's lean & push technique to keep him away.

Here's a bento lunch that I made for the kids today.  Jasmine rice with a little butter, salt and pepper (seriously one of Ena's favorite things in the world to eat!), blueberries for Alton, raspberries for Ena, a little handful of Pirate B00ty, and a thick chunk of swiss cheese cut into a bear.   NOT the most nutricious lunch I've made them, but I was happy to get out and dust off these cute bento containers that I haven't used in ages and it used up the last of a few things from the fridge:)

Pancake art and a snowman:)

Athena and John had a great time building a snowman this morning.    She's been wanting to make a snowman for weeks now, but we just haven't had any decent snow on a weekend when there was time to go outside and build one.  With the snowstorm yesterday there was plenty of wet, thick packable snow today.  The snowman turned out so cute!
When I came outside to take a picture of them I brought Alton along and stuck him in for a picture:)

Isn't it the cutest?  The eyes are charred chunks of wood from the outdoor fireplace.   The  arms are cat tails and the nose is a great big carrot.  We've had so many deer in the yard again lately, we're curious to see if the carrot is going to still be there tomorrow morning!

The father daughter snowman building team.

We also had some fun today doing pancake art for breakfast.  Ena LOVES doing this.  I make a batch of home made pancake batter and we dye some of it different colors.  I put the colored batters into these piping bottles and let Athena 'draw' pictures on the griddle with the batter.  I didn't get any action pictures of her doing it though because I'm always busy hovering over her making sure she doesn't touch her arms to the griddle as she's drawing.

Check out her flower pancake creation!  She was very proud of it and ate the entire thing!  It was pretty huge!  She also made some Packer colored footballs for daddy and Alton.

Crayon snack for 4K:)

We made these cute edible crayon snacks for Athena's treat day at school. I got the idea from the Our Best Bites blog over on my favorites blogs list.
First you cut pretzel logs in half and dunk each end in colored white chocolate. The Wilton brand is called 'candy melts'.

I printed these sheets for the wrappers from that blog too.

Super fun:)

Fun lunch flower bouquet

Each flower is a round cracker topped with either a raspberry center & string cheese half circles for petals or a string cheese circle center & grapes for petals. All of the stems and leafs are celery:)

Bunny lunch:)

The weather is being un-cooperative outside & we're not gettting any bright, springy weather for our nice long weekend. So we had to make a bright springy lunch inside instead:) The kids loved it and ate it up!

Ena's bunny lunch is 2 pb&J sandwhiches cut out with a bunny cookie cutter, topped with chocolate chip eyes and a grape tomato nose. They are peeking out from some celery grass and being shined upon by an assorted heirloom tomato sun:)
Alton got spring flowers made up of blueberries cut in half surrounded by string cheese pieces cut into half circles for petals.
